One of my cats killed this black bird a few months ago. In mind of a previous project where I used found bird bones, I felt this was a sign. I'm letting it rot down, protected in the garden. I like to center the project around it. Death is on my mind. Think about the symbolism of a bird. You see a dead black bird but do you grieve for it? every spring there are more birds so you just sort if think they go on forever until you find a dead one..and I'm sure they look at us humans the same way, we are strangers to each other.

I've been combining different words and patterns to make small visual experiments and see what kind of feeling I get from them.
Or death of a bird..I like a collective ritual, sadness, announcement of the death of a small creature. I sing a lot about birds...birds and death and churches are the themes I have found a centre for the project. I need to wait fir the bird skeleton to be fully rotted down.
I'd like to put it on the projector and create some shadows with it.
I've also been taking lots if photos of birds in gravestones..I'd like to rake a mould if one in clay and create some plaster casts or ceramic copies( need to get advice from James on how to do this)
Feel like all the elements are coming together now and I like that I'm going to use lots of elements from past projects to represent my time on this course and showcase these processes and themes within this final project. The focus on endings while moving into spring-
