Print dress/ gloves

Here  I am again pulling in some ideas and influences from past projects. I was so drawn to shelly tipping gold smiths" dresses for giants." (see image at the end of this post) and tried to create a similar effect with cyanotype during the lace project. this time I am taking the idea of printing with women's clothing and doing direct mono prints through the  rolling printing press by applying as much pressure as possible I am able to make these ghost like prints. It worked best once the fabric had been through the press a few times and a lot of the ink squeezed out to then create these very dry, high pressure prints. I love them,, they are ghosts, they are ghost of clothes and very emotive to me and fit nicely with my theme , maybe to display along side the grave rubbings as an extension. the only down side was that the dress didn't fit wholly through the press so had to do it in two parts.
