Marking the days...

 Poem by Bertolt Brecht
A short and strange little verse was written by a German poet during ww2 who was opposed to the nazi regime.
All our hearts are heavy now with the wars in the news. So much sadness. Thinking about the oppersit of folk celebration. Marking the dark times also with a song and a ritual. The union of music/ song and simple honest words.

The world feels very sad today. Spring is still happening regardless and it feels good to be in the sunshine but with grief comes sadness. 

 

I really like this book cover, the title, the font, the colour, the textures, the worn parts repaired with tape. ( its a sociology book I found in the boots library)
But of course fitted with my devil music/ folk devil theme if only in the cover.
Noting the simplicity and how the words / titles can fuel imagination.
An idea to make a picture book with this title, or a similar cover. with images of my work during this project.
