Beautiful village church, in Edwinstowe, near the Major oak, its supposedly the place where Robin hood and Maid Martion got married. Lots of the stones are very old 1700 and older, lots are worn bare of letters so not good for rubbing. But newer graves in the land behindd the church. Got quite a few wax rubbings from here. will see how they turn out with the ink wash later
Carved into a tree in sherwood forest, Robin and Marrion? Maybe. Took a graphite rubbing, not super clear but another souce to think about. Combining the nature memorials as well as stone memorials.
Again thinking about sacred stones and trees and the pagan connections
